Funding for the ECOSEL project

ECOSEL Research Sponsors

The ECOSEL project has been funded by three competitive federal grants from the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA): WNZ-1327 ($50,000), WNZ-1381 ($32,420) and WNZ-1398 ($499,986).

The first two seed grants allowed us to run experimental auctions to demonstrate stakeholder interest and to gather empirical evidence in support of the efficiency of the mechanism. The third grant is being used to build, test and deploy a web-based implementation of ECOSEL to support real forest management decisions as well as classroom and laboratory experiments. The dollars primarily support graduate student stipends and tuition, summer salaries of faculty participants and software development for the bidding platform.
